Mon père n'était jamais retourné au Vietnam depuis son arrivée en Suisse il y a 38 ans. Moi je suis suisse depuis ma naissance. En 2005, après sa naturalisation, nous avons fait deux voyages rien que les deux, pour visiter son pays d'origine. Pendant ces séjours, j'ai photographié les paysages, les objets, les personnes que nous avons croisés comme autant d'indices, de signes de ce qui nous attachait encore à ce pays. J'ai aussi photographié mon père traversant des lieux connus mais oubliés, re-découvrant des amis dont le visage avait souvent changé autant que le pays lui-même.
L'ensemble des images a été primé par la fondation Pro-Helvetia dans le cadre de son concours sur la mixité culturelle et fera l'objet d'un livre à paraître dans le courant de l'année 2006.

 My father had never returned to Vietnam since his arrival in Switzerland 38 years ago. I was born in Switzerland. In 2005, after my father got his Swiss citizenship, we took two trips to Vietnam together and visited his native country. During these stays, I photographed the landscapes, the objects and the people we met as so many clues or signs of what still bound us to this country. I also photographed my father rediscovering familiar but forgotten places, meeting friends whose faces had changed as much as the country itself.
This project will be published as a book in 2006. It will be partially funded by "Pro-Helvetia", the Swiss foundation for cultural events.
